I’m not a present employee but a former employee of the Diagnostic Imaging Department.

My coworkers and the entire staff were some of the most caring and loving people I have encountered in my career. I worked there for about 6 years and I highly recommend this hospital to any and everyone who wants their child taken care of by the best. You will never meet a more dedicated staff and group of doctors.

Working at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles enriched my life and made me a better person. I really miss and the great friends I made while working there and I hope I brought some joy to the children and their family during my years of employment there.

I would like to share the most life-changing, profound experience of my life.

It was encountered at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), where I met and cared for a little boy, who inevitably, stole my heart.

He was waiting for a heart transplant, and spent a year and four months in our unit, before his unfortunate departure from this world. I spent the better part of this time caring for him every shift I worked. We call this “primary” care.

Through this old little soul, I learned how to love without restraint, fearless in the face of adversity, and unconditionally.

Throughout my five-year career in the CTICU, I have learned more profoundly of the heart’s centrality. I learn daily what it means to fill my heart with love so that I overflow to those entrusted to my care.

I am learning that the precision of working in a cardiac unit is empty without compassion.
