Is Your Neighbor’s Smoke Making You Sick?

Children’s Hospital Los Angeles partnered with the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health to host a forum on the impact of secondhand smoke on families and children exposed in their apartments and condos on Wednesday, Nov. 16.

The forum aimed to educate and inform community leaders, elected officials and the public health community about policy-based options for creating smoke-free environments at home.

Tiny Baby Marks Big Milestone: 1,000th ECMO Patient Treated

2-Day-Old Dorion Freeman becomes the 1,000th patient to receive life-saving extracoporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) technology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Thanks to the technology and a team of highly specialized physicians in one of the nation’s top NICCU’s, Dorion was taken off ECMO on Friday and is expected to make a full recovery.
