My son has to be on seizure medication for the rest of his life, but I thank God every day because he is a normal, rambunctious 3-year old … as normal as any kid you’ll ever meet.
Trust me, he drives me crazy sometimes … but I am glad that I can have those moments with him and many more good ones too.
Thank you so much for making me feel at home even though I was so far away.

Athena was 1 1/2 years old when she was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. From then until now, she has been through several operations, procedures, medicines and hospital stays … She is three years old now. Her hair is growing back quite fast and very thick. She’s put some weight back on and all of her blood levels are back to normal.

My little sister has Down Syndrome.
She had open heart surgery at the children’s hospital and they were the best. I had never been there but being there made me and my family realize how lucky we are to have these doctors and nurses that are great.

For such a long time we never realize that we take our lives for granted but there are kids and people that are fighting to stay alive and my sister was one of them.

Knowing our family history with this condition, we have always kept our eyes and ears open to any information that would come our way. My mother had been watching television years ago and came across a segment on Brook Shields’ first daughter that was diagnosed with Hip Dysplacia.
She had taken her to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and was treated by Dr. Skaggs. My mother quickly wrote his name down and filed it away. After the birth of my daughter, I had a friend do some research at Children’s Hospital for a doctor that specialized in Hip Dysplasia. At this same time my mom was digging through files trying to find where she had written down the doctors name. They both came back with Dr. Skaggs.
